Tomorrow is my birthday and "mom" told me we were going to a picnic. I think it is really a surprise party for me. I really hope my present will be a forever home. It is rewally nice here, but the residents here keep telling me how they got adopted and "mom and dad" signed some official papers that said they were going to stay here forever. Sooooo, would some one do that for me. "Mom" said I would be a senior tomorrow and something about I could be free to someone who already has a greyhound or only $150 for someone who does not have a greyhound who wants to try out a seasoned model. (What ever that is, I don't feel like a senior.) She also talked about the Maximus Fund that can help if I ever needs special meds or care. There is something about it on the website, but I am too busy today going out to enjoy this lovely day.
See you all tomorrow. River--Now "mom" wants to tell you something.
River has been a perfect foster. Can't say enough good things about her. She has only one problem but one that is not a big one. She is terrified of thunder. She emmediately goes into the bathroom and lays down. Actually that is pretty smart as don't they always tell to go to a center room if you don't have a basement. She trembles but does not cry or bark. I just go in and tell her is it all okay and will end soon. I tried rescue remedy this last time, but say little effect. As soon as the thunder ends she comes out and is her normal happy self. She is not an overly active girl in the house but enjoys a short run outside with Clinton and Checkbook. She is a good eater and enjoys treats of any kind. She is becoming more friendly with the stuffies and will come with a collection of her own that she seems to favor. She crates easily and enjoys a Kong with peanut butter and kibble. When I get home at night and put the key in the door she begins singing to get out of the crate and go outside. She sleeps all night at the bedside. She loves attention and will give little kisses. She roaches but is certainly not a greyt roacher, she often falls over and then looks at you with a "I meant to do that." look.
If you are looking for a greyt companion see this girl and take her home.

Quick update on River
What an absolute doll. You would never guess this sweet girl will be 8 in a few days. She certainly does not act like a "senior". She entered the house, greeted the resident greys and cats. Then started really making herself comfortable by curling up on one of the many dog beds and going to sleep. Because River will be a senior very soon, Sept. 18th to be exact, read about the Senior Incentives Progran offered by GPA/Nashville on the website www.gpanashville.org.
Pictures of this doll will follow soon and updates on her as she adapts to her new foster home.

River personality continues to come out. She has discovered stuffies and tries her best to scatter them everywhere in the house, after they are given a good shaking. She will also use any opportunity to harvest a morsel left in her sight. Roaching on a soft bed is another favorite hobby. Happy and curious.

River has now been out here in Chapel Hill for a couple weeks. She is a happy girl (except for storms). She likes to hide in the bathroom while storms pass thru. She crates during the day when I am out of my house. She had graduated to sleeping out of the crate without her muzzle. River is doing very well learning to live with four inside cats. She is mildy interested when they really get running around or rough housing with each other. Their noises can be so interesting. Her curiosity extends to counters, tables, cabinets and inside closets are also interesting. She loves to eat ... cookies and peanut butter in kongs are good , but bully sticks are better. Her personality seems very flexiable, I could she her as an only grey or with other pets. She might be near a Senior age but she doesn't act it.

River Update
River is a very happy lady. She is a sweet dog but has a small problem with storm phobia. She just mainly hides in her crate. She loves to ride in the car and loves going for walks. She gets along with everyone in the house but we will need to check 2c if she is cat & small animal safe. She was a very good racer and is a good size girl. She loves to play with stuffies and is so funny to watch with them. She loves to eat and really likes her treats. She crates well and sleeps thru the night. She is a very loving girl and will make a wonderful addition to any family.
